Kirk Langstrom, in the alternate reality depicted in Justice League: Gods and Monsters, is not Bruce Wayne but a brilliant scientist who becomes Batman after experimenting with a serum designed to give him bat-like abilities to cure his cancer.
This experimental treatment transforms him into a vampiric being, granting him enhanced strength, agility, and the ability to fly. To control his thirst for blood, he uses a synthetic substitute that he has developed.
